Ben Holmes continued his good recent form at Hallcroft with victory today in the overall match and also the Silverfish prize with 28lbs of skimmers. Ben caught using maggot and groundbait on the pole.
Gary Butt edged second place by beating his brother from the next peg. Gary caught carp on the tip using corn and pellets.
Tony Butt took third place with carp also caught on a groundbait feeder from the middle of Moat.
Dave Downes won this Vets open from unfancied peg 63 on moat outer. Dave fished a small feeder with pellet and hair rigged for 9 carp to 12lb
Chuck Yves continued his good form with this second place. Chuck fished maggot and pellet on feeder for carp tpo 8lb

Silver fish dominated this small vets open on bridge outer. Chuck Yves fished maggot and pinkie over groundbait at 8m for roach and skimmers

Despite the poor weather there was still an area of moat pool that carp were feeding well. Steve Twigg drew Island 61 and caught carp steadily all match on pellet feeder with hair rigged corn
John Barningham alternated feeder and pole with maggot for his carp and a few skimmers and 2nd place

Once again the boat was called out for ice breaking making conditions far from ideal for fishing. Gordon Gibson just got the win with a last gasp carp. Gordon fished bomb and maggot for 6 carp to 10lb

The ice on Moat pool had to be broken by the boat yet again for this latest match, but there were still plenty of silvers caught. Sean Cameron drew favoured aerator on moat outer and blitzed the field with 54lb. Sean fished hair rigged 4 and 6mm pellet for carp to 8lb

With melting ice and a cold northerly wind conditions were far from ideal for this Vets thursday match. However, Tony Brown sat it out on bomb with corn and pellet and was rewarded with two acrp weighing 13lb a piece

The bitter NE wind meant a change of pegs for some, to make the wind a bit easier for fishing. Chris Greenside blitzed the field catching skimmers on the pole at 12m using groundbait and pinkies.

14 carp counting as a pound each helped Kev Baxter to second place overall. Kez also picked up a few silvers from the deep margins using maggots.

Once again anglers used the pegs with wind off their back today in what started as blizzard conditions early in the day. Pete Bagshaw made the most of an in form peg and netted 12 decent carp throughout the match on feeder with corn tactics.
Steve Quibell also caught carp on the feeder, but used dead maggot and meat as hook baits to take second place.
Pete Miles took third spot with carp caught on the bomb and banded pellet plus a few skimmers taken on pole and maggot.
Only 8 brave veterans ventured out in the snowy conditions today. Geoff Hiley caught carp and bream on the bomb with dead maggot fished to the middle of Moat.
Steve Robbins fished a feeder with pellet and corn and caught the odd carp during the match.
Steve Richards fished the pole with maggot over ground bait and jokers to catch all silvers for third place.
The match was pegged to favour the wind off their backs for the anglers today. Ray Mawer fished bomb with corn and meat to catch carp and the odd skimmers for the win today.
Trevor Furby took second place also with carp and skimmers caught on the feeder with dead maggots.
Ron Brooks caught mainly bream on the pole at 8m using expander pellet over feed.
